MY BIO

My name is Roland Bäck. I'm born and raised in Ostrobothnia, Finland. I grew up in Larsmo, the main Island in a beautiful archipelago of 365 islands.

I spent a lot of time out in the archipelago, both winter and summer. As a young boy I was taught by my father to respect nature and all living. There was always something to learn on every trip we did. I am quite sure that this was the seed that later grew into my love for outdoor activities and all four seasons we are lucky to have in the region.

I am a trained sea kayak guide, survival expert. I have soon been using snowshoes 20 years and passed 50 I also turned into an active trail runner. Through the outdoor activities, paddling, hiking and trail running I spend time outdoors and my love for nature has only grown stronger. I do not call it training, just time well spent outdoors as I have no other goal set except for keeping strong, fit and healthy. Mind over body!

Dare2Do has been in the back of my head for many years. I like to share the good feeling of exploring, seeing, experiencing nature's remarkable beauty all around us. We just need to open our eyes to the small wonderful things that we too often miss but can do so much for our own wellbeing.

Dare2Do hopes to see you out there!
